Citroën DS3Release of Citroën DS3 is organized since 2009. One generation of the model and one restyling is presented. These cars are produced in France, at the plant in Poyssi.
Citroën DS3 I generationThe debut of Citroën DS3 took place in 2009 at the motor show in Frankfurt. The car was constructed on the Citroën C3 of the second generation platform. The stock model differed slightly from the Citroën DS Inside concept presented at the Geneva motor show in March, 2009.
The car differed in bright and original design. Eleven variants of body colouring, eight variants of dashboard design and three variants of leather inner trimming were offered. Besides, it was possible to order a company sticker for the roof and to choose the pleasant design of disks from twelve variants. The roof of the car was stylistically separated from other part of a body and was offered in four variants of colouring. All this allowed to create the most personified car. Curved central body racks formed a so-called "shark fin" — the bright element of an exterior making the car recognizable. Original feature of the car was also chrome plated radiator grille in the form of a company logo.
The interior of the car was done in the same style, as an exterior. Mats had the colour and pattern corresponding to the roof of the car. The glossy bright dashboard was perfectly combined with carboxylic inserts.
Initially the model was offered in a three-door hatchback body. In 2012 at the Parisian motor show the cabriolet of Citroën DS3 Cabrio was presented. The car went on sale in 2013. Citroën DS3 Cabrio differed from classical cabriolets: bodies racks were stationary and did not fold up when closing a roof.
Citroën DS3 Racing and Citroën DS3 WRCIn 2010 sports modification of Citroën DS3 Racing was presented at the Geneva salon. Producers expanded wheel arches and equipped the car with new electronic systems. In Noir Onyx package the body had black colour, and mirrors cases , disks, roof, radiator grille and other elements were painted in brilliant orange colour. In Blanc Banquise package the body was white, and all the details were gray.
The same year at the Parisian motor show the debut of racing modification of Citroën DS3 WRC, created for the Citroën team to the World Cup of 2011, took place.
Citroën DS3 I generation restylingsIn 2014 Citroën DS3 cars underwent restyling. The updated model was presented at the Moscow motor show. The main changes concerned design of the nose. LED modules were used in front and back headlights. The updated cars had LED direction indicators. Anti-lock brake system (ABS) and brake force distribution system (ESP), front and side air bags, cruise control and climate control, the electric drive and heating of mirrors, seats heating, the sensor of light and a rain and others entered the list of available options.
In 2016 the second restyling of Citroën DS3 cars took place. The updated cars began to be positioned as models of the separate DS brand. The design of the car was changed slightly. The radiator grille was decorated by a new company logo.
