Fiat DucatoFiat Ducato cars are produced since 1981 till present time. The model was assembled in Italy, Brazil, Turkey, Iran, Mexico and Russia. In total there were three generations and three restylings of Fiat Ducato.
Fiat Ducato I generationProduction of Fiat Ducato of the first generation lasted from 1982 to 1989. This car was released in three body types: van, pickup and chassis. Assembling was carried out in Italy. The Italian company was engaged in the development of the car together with PSA Peugeot Citroën.
Depending on loading capacity, the following indexes were attributed to the name Fuat Ducato: Fiat Ducato 10 (1 t), 13 (1,3 t), 14 (1,4 t) and 18 (1,8 t).
The exterior of the car differed in simplicity. The front part was narrow, with a plastic fringing around a radiator grille and headlights. The center of a radiator has a logo badge in the form of slanting lines.
The interior was executed in light tones.
Fiat Ducato I generation restylingConsiderable change of Fiat Ducato of the first generation took place in 1989. The car got new, more actual exterior and an interior. The shape of front and back optics was changed. The chassis was offered with one or three places for passengers. Also the area of windows in the doorway was increased that providing better visibility.
Fiat Ducato II generationThe premiere of the second generation of Fiat Ducato took place at the Geneva motor show in 1993. Stock release began one year later. The range of bodies was represented by fifteen-seater and nine-seater minibus, van, kombi and 5+1 and 6+1 minibuses.
Producers changed a body, having made its lines smoother and dynamic. The optics was changed, front and back bumpers got a new shape. Corner marker lights were transferred to a block headlight. The interior became ergonomic and modern. The car was released till 2002.
Fiat Ducato II generation restylingIn 2002 the restyling of the second generation took place. Producers added back and side mouldings. The radiator grille shape was changed. Loading capacity of model was increased and markings were changed: Fiat Ducato 29 (2,9 t), Fiat Ducato 30 (3,0 t), Fiat Ducato 33 (3,3 t) and Fiat Ducato Maxi 35 (3,5 t). As an additional option the airbag for the passenger was added.
The passenger compartment became more convenient and more practical because of new placement of its elements.
Fiat Ducato III generationRelease of the third generation of Fiat Ducato began in 2006. Producers changed front part of a car considerably. Headlights had a new shape — they reminded optics of high-speed trains. The front bumper became much wider also massive. In rear-view mirrors marker lights were set. The shape of the radiator grille changed and a new badge appeared on it.
Fiat Ducato III generation restylingIn 2014 the nose of a car was changed: the model got advanced headlights of the rectangular extended form, the bumper began to look massive and more modern. The updated air inlets were located in stylish niches. Fog lights were placed under them in deepening. Over the radiator grille there was a trapezoid false-grill with chrome plated badge of the company. Also designers increased fender flares.
Fiat Ducato in the markets of the different countriesThe first generation of Fuat Ducato was released under such names as Citroen C25, Peugeot J5, Alfa Romeo AR6 and Talbot Express.
The second and the third generation were known under the names Citroën Jumper, Peugeot Boxer, and also Ram ProMaster for the markets of the USA and Canada.
