Mercedes-Benz B class is a car produced since 2005 till nowadays. Production of these cars was initially organized in Rastatt, Germany, but later it also was also manufactured in Hungary.

The model was presented at the motor show in Geneva in 2005. In several months the stock production of these cars began.

The car was constructed on the W/C 169/T 245 platform which was the cornerstone of Mercedes-Benz t A Class. Besides, engines and the suspension at both cars were also almost identical.

Cars differed in stylish design of an exterior. Large optics and the big radiator grille were located on the front bumper. The hood of the car had stylish stamping. Door handles were located in deep niches.

In 2008 developers presented a number of changes in an exterior of the model and its technical characteristics. The nose of the car was considerably elaborated: the shape of head lights, the radiator grille and a bumper was changed.

Besides, developers added to a basic package a large number of options which were additional earlier: Hill Descent Control system, park assistant, interactive interface.

Daimler AG presented the second generation of Mercedes-Benz B class at the Frankfurt automobile festival in 2011.

Designers made several serious changes in design of an exterior of the car: the updated head lights were set on the car, the shape of bumpers and the radiator grille was changed.

Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive Concept W242 was presented in 2012 at the Parisian motor show. Stock production began only in 2014. Except the petrol engine, modification had the electric one. In the hybrid mode fuel consumption equals 2,8 l / 100 km. Maximum speed of this car in the mixed cycle reached 150 km/h. In electric mode the running was about 140 km.

After restyling of 2014, Mercedes-Benz B class cars of the second generation had new LED headlights, a modified front bumper, the effective radiator grille. 16-inch light-alloy disks began to be included in a basic package. In an inner trimming the set of the chrome plated elements appeared.
