Nissan X-TrailProduction of 5-door Nissan X-Trail has been carried out since 2001. Company presented 3 generations and 2 facelifts on the market. Car manufacturing was established in Japan, Taiwan, Thailand and Indonesia.
Nissan X-Trail T30Nissan X-Trail first-generation debut happened during Paris Motor Show in 2000. Car was built on Nissan FF-S platform and differed by stylish exterior. Front part was decorated with square light-units, round fog lights integrated into a skirt which was protected by a massive plastic cover.
Designers mounted special glasses which minimized a negative effect of an ultraviolet. This decision helped to maintain a temperature in a passenger compartment without overloading of an air-conditioning system.
Specific feature of Nissan X-Trail passenger compartment was dashboard situated between a driver and a front passenger instead of being in front of a driver. Manufacturers mounted an additional glove box in a place where a tachometer and a speedometer were.
Nissan X-Trail was equipped with ALL MODE 4x4 system which provided a comfort and safe driving along a snow- or ice-covered road, on down grade and upgrade, and off-road also. There were 4 configurations on the market: Comfort, Luxury, Elegance, and Sport.
Nissan X-Trail T30 faceliftNissan X-Trail restyling happened in 2003. Manufacturers mounted a new radiator grille and renewed fog lights. Lower part of a front bumper was also changed. There were no more significant changes in an exterior and interior.
Nissan X-Trail T31Second Nissan X-Trail generation was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 2007. Cars were built on Nissan C platform and their sizes changed: height was 1685 mm, width – 1880 mm, length – 4770 mm. Designers made a car exterior more stylish: a front part was decorated with modified headlights, renewed taillights were mounted on a rear part. Interior was insignificantly changed: a dashboard moved to its usual place, seats became more comfortable because a manufacturer added several adjustment types. The second-generation cars were equipped with Uphill Start Support system and Downhill Drive Support system.
Nissan X-Trail T31 faceliftSales of Nissan X-Trail facelifts started in July 2010. Manufacturers changed an exterior and mounted new headlights and a radiator grille. They also reworked front bumper and fog lights. Interior changes affected a dashboard (it became more informative), on-board computer and upholstery quality.
Nissan X-Trail T32Nissan X-Trail of the third generation built on CMF platform was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 2013. Manufacturer could surprise by a cardinal change of an exterior: massive skirts and angular forms were replaced by smooth lines and stylish features of a modern crossover.
Nissan X-Trail interior got natural materials, fitted carpet and high quality plastic. Dashboard, doors and other parts were decorated with inserts imitating metal and carbon. New on-board computer, improved climate-control and navigation systems equipped with a panoramic view camera were situated on a central console. 2 additional seats were offered as an additional option.
