Porsche Panamera
Release of Porsche Panamera five-door fastback began in 2009 and continues till nowadays. The premiere of the car took place at the international auto exhibition in Shanghai, China. The model owes its name to the Carrera Panamericana race, successful for the company. During production of the model one generation and one restyling were presented.
Porsche Panamera 970
Porsche Panamera cars of the first generation were manufactured from 2009 to 2013.
This model became disappointment for many fans of the brand who expected to see a classical sports car constructed on the basis of the concept shown in the 1980s. It should be noted that Porsche Cayenne caused negative reaction of motorists too. It did not stop the model from becoming the best sold car of the company.
The body pleased both fans of stylish sport cars, and admirers of magnificent sedans. The front of the car resembles the well-known Porsche 911 model, first of all with its lengthy hood. Because of the sloping roof and a flat bottom, Porsche Panamera has excellent aerodynamics. The drag coefficient is 0,29. In the tail there is a telescopic spoiler that creates extra down force at the speed of 250 km/h.
Hinged parts and front longitudinal members are made of aluminium. For door frames and radiator frame of the Porsche Panamera model, magnesium alloy is used.
Quality leather was used for interior trimming. The interior consisted of varnished panels and a variety of chrome details and inserts. The high level of comfort was a distinctive feature of passenger compartment.
Porsche Panamera 970 restyling
In 2013 restyling of the model took place. The updated car was presented also at the Shanghai motor show.
In spite of the fact that the main changes concerned principal specifications of Porsche Panamera, the company brought some innovations in the exterior. The car had new front optics — headlights with the cut-off corners. The shape of the front bumper was also changed. Air inlets became larger. In the tail of the car, changes concerned the boot lid - a chrome strip was added to it. Corner marker lights became LED.
A number of basic options was available to Porsche Panamera owners: air bags for the driver and passenger, fastening for child's seat, ABS system, 18-inch light-alloy discs, glossy decorative inserts in the passenger compartment, etc. It was possible to get extra options also: rear side air bags, air suspension, tinted glass, towbar, steering wheel trimmed with alcantara etc.
