Renault ScénicThe Renault Scénic minivan is produced by the French company from 1996 until nowadays. Three generations of the model and four restylings were presented during this time. In the second half of 2016 the official premiere of the fourth generation of Renault Scénic took place. Assembling of minivans is carried out in Douai, France. In 1997 the model won the "European Car of Year" competition.
Renault Scénic. I generationThe Renault Scénic Concept was shown at the Frankfurt motor show in 1991. Engineers moved the middle rack away and created doors, sliding in both parties, that provided comfortable access to the compartment. Narrow front headlights, streamline lines of a body and the list of inventory revolutionary for that time (for example, the monitoring system of a fatigue of the driver) became remarkable features of this car.
Release of the first generation of Renault Scénic was carried out in 1996-1999. The stock model was constructed on the basis of the Renault Mégane car and initially had the name Renault Mégane Scénic. After the restyling in 1999 the minivan began to be positioned as an unique model, and the Mégane prefix disappeared from the name.
The exterior of cars of the first generation was borrowed from Renault Mégane: the same narrow headlights, specific "bird's beak" and the zone line which visually raises the tail of a car.
Renault Scénic. I generation restylingIn 1999 restyling of Renault Mégane Scénic was carried out. Changes concerned a radiator grille and tail lights. The front optics increased in sizes. The compartment became more functional: the dashboard was updated and there was an opportunity to transform a front seat to a small little table.
Renault Scénic. II generationIn 2003 the second generation of Renault Scénic debuted at the Geneva motor show. The design of the rear side of the car was changed considerably – overhang of the body was increased and the slope angle of back glass was reduced. The car received larger headlights and relief wheel arches. Command keys of controlling of important systems and the joystick of gear shifting were postponed for the dashboard over which the digital display was located. Because of inclination of a back rack it was possible to remove seats back and to increase compartment space.
Renault Scénic of a second generation was in the lead in the class on volume of sales in Europe. Renault Scénic II car received the highest assessment - five stars on Euro NCAP testing.
Renault Scénic. II generation restylingIn 2006 restyling of the second generation of Renault Scénic was carried out. Minor changes concerned a front bumper and a radiator grille. In finishing of compartment better materials were used. Release of these cars was carried out till 2009.
Renault Scénic. III generationThe minivan of Renault Scénic of the third generation was presented at the motor show in Geneva in 2009. Lines of the body became more rounded and streamline, it was decided to decline too sharp forms. The car received the updated bumper and relief sidewalls. Back lights got the form of a boomerang. Producers shifted front racks of a body so the visibility increased.
Renault Scénic. III generation restylingRenault Scénic III were exposed to restyling twice: in 2012 and in 2013. The main changes concerned an exterior of the front part and design of rear lights.
