Info on SUZUKI SWIFT model - the right selection of spare parts

Suzuki Swift

Suzuki Swift has been in production since 1983. In various years, assembly of the car was organized in Japan, Hungary, India, Thailand, and Malaysia. Today, the cars are also assembled in Pakistan. During its history, the car has won over 60 awards. In particular, in 2006 and 2011, the model was awarded the "Car of the Year" price within the Japanese Automotive Researchers and Journalists Conference (RJC), and in 2012, it became the Car of the Year in India. In 2011, readers of the British "What Car?" magazine called Suzuki Swift "The Best Small Car of the Year".

Suzuki Swift 1984-2010

First generation Suzuki Swift was available as three-door and five-door hatchbacks. The exterior featured moldings with a red stripe on black plastic, and protruding bumpers. The body of the car had angular shape. In 1986, the first generation was restyled. The changes were made to the bottom part of the body and wheel clads.

1989 saw the release of the second generation. Not only hatchbacks, but also sedans, convertibles, and roadsters left the conveyor. Unlike its predecessor, the updated model had more up-to-date design. The body became smoother. The list of options expanded significantly. The standard configuration included front electric windows, air conditioning, and central locking. The options included two airbags, the anti-lock brakes system (ABS), and power steering.

In 1996, second generation was restyled. The exterior changes were made to headlights, radiator grill, air intake, and wheel clads.

In 2004, the third generation was shown at the Motor Show in Paris. The car continued to be made as three-door and five-door hatchbacks. According to the Euro NCAP results, the model got four out of five stars for safety.

In October 2005, Suzuki Swift Sport saw its debut in Japan. The car was made as a three-door hatchback, and, unlike Suzuki Swift, it had more powerful equipment and the body elongated by 70 mm. The car got sporty bumpers and spoilers, twin exhaust, stiff suspension, 16-inch wheels and red sporty seats.

IV generation Suzuki Swift

The production of the fourth generation started in 2010. The model's wheelbase length had been increased by 50 mm, and made 2,430 mm. The streamlined shape of the body improved aerodynamics. The car was equipped with an emergency braking system, seven airbags, and an immobilizer. The on-board computer ensured easer steering.

IV generation Suzuki Swift restyled

In 2013, the fourth generation was restyled, and the car got a new front bumper, L-shaped LED daytime lights, and 16-inch wheels of new design.

Suzuki Swift in the markets of various countries

Until 2000, Suzuki Swift was sold in the Japanese market as Suzuki Cultus. In foreign markets, the car was called Suzuki Forsa, Chevrolet Swift, Suzuki Jazz, Chevrolet Sprint and Sprint Metro, Geo Metro and Chevrolet Metro, Maruti 1000, Pontiac Firefly Holden Barina and Subaru Justy. Since 2000, outside Japan the car was called Suzuki Ignis. In May 2005, the production of Maruti Suzuki Swift hatchbacks, and in March 2008 - the production of sedans Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire started in India.
