What is API SJ oil?
API SJ is an older oil specification for petrol engines, offering protection against wear, oxidation, and deposits. While it was once common for vehicles featuring advanced engine technology, it has since been superseded by newer standards , such as API SL and API SN, which provide better protection and performance.
Typical viscosities for API SJ oils include 10W-30 and 5W-30. Though less commonly used today, API SJ oils are still found in older vehicles that are not required to meet the stringent emission and performance standards of newer oils.
