Chevrolet CruzeThe name Cruze was originally used in the early 2000s in the release of small hatchbacks of the Chevrolet company with Suzuki joint production for the Japanese market. Since 2009, the Chevrolet Cruze is a compact car from the General Motors concern, that does not have any common roots with the previous bearers of the name. In 2010, the Chevrolet Cruze won the Autobest Award as the best car in the territory of Eastern Europe. The car production is carried out in the Group's facilities in Australia, Brazil, China, India, Kazakhstan, Russia, South Korea, Thailand, the USA and Vietnam.
Chevrolet Cruze I generationThe Chevrolet Cruze model was designed to fill a niche, that appeared after the discontinuation of obsolete Chevrolet Cobalt and Chevrolet Lacetti. First introduced to the public at the end of 2008 in Paris, The Chevrolet Cruze sedan won great popularity in a short time.
The body outlines of the Chevrolet Cruze cars resembled a coupe thanks to a curved roof line and a short rear end. Additional design features included a raised hood, large, elongated headlights, a two-tier grille, a low-slung body and protruding wheels. The interior looked very modern: a three-spoke leather steering with metallic inserts, drowned in stylish "wells" instrument dials, a front panel not overloaded with buttons. All plastic parts were perfectly adjusted to each other, thus excluding extraneous squeaks when driving.
In 2010 at the Paris Motor Show, a presentation of the Chevrolet Cruze five-door hatchback took place, and in 2012 the lineup of bodies was topped off with a five-door wagon.
Chevrolet Cruze I generation restylingIn 2012, at the motor show in Pusan, South Korea, the the Chevrolet Cruze was launched after a little facelift, which affected the radiator grille, the head lights and the design of the fog lights. In addition to this, the cars got new alloy wheels. In 2014 at the Auto Show in New York City the results of the second restyling could be assessed: the outline of the body had become more angular, and the shape of the grille had changed.
Chevrolet Cruze II generationThe second generation Chevrolet Cruze was introduced in the US in July 2015. The new car was larger, but lighter than its predecessor. Total body geometry that resembles a coupe has been preserved. The front of the Chevrolet Cruze has begun to look much more dynamic thanks to a coarse-meshed grille and tapered headlights of the projector type. A neat rear end stands out by a relief bumper and stylish lights.
The Chevrolet Cruze interior has not changed dramatically, except for the appearance of the front panel multimedia complex display MyLink (diagonal, depending on the configuration, of 7 or 8 inches). A wider range of adjustment for the front seats, as well as a 51 mm increase in the rear legroom appeared.
Chevrolet Cruze in different marketsIn South Korea the model was sold under the name Daewoo Lacetti Premiere, in Australia - Holden Cruze.
