Honda InsightProduction of Honda CR-Z hybrid car in hatchback body started in 1999 and is still in process. Two generations and one restyling models were presented on the market. Manufacturing was established in Japan.
Honda Insight I generationOn Tokyo Motor Show J-VX concept was presented in 1997. Engine created by the Integrated Motor Assist technology was its unique feature. First generation of Honda Insight appeared on the market in 1999. Car manufactured in 3-door hatchback body.
Car body was notable for high aerodynamics, due to its streamline form and small weight – curb weight was 820 kg. Front part was decorated with compact radiator grille, narrow body kit and almond-shaped headlights.
Inside Honda Insight were seats with lateral support, covered with two-color material. Dashboard was well readable and well organized. All buttons and regulators were at a convenient distance to a driver.
First generation vehicles production ended in 2006.
Honda Insight II generationAfter a small break manufacturer presented the second generation of Honda Insight in 2009. Most important change was seats addition: instead of 3-door hatchback market got 5-door hatchback. Due to that dimensions of car changed: length – 4395 mm, width – 1695 mm and height – 1425 mm.
Second generation Honda Insight got a new radiator grille with wide chrome crossbars and V-shaped headlights.
Basic configuration of Honda Insight had the next options: power windows, air-conditioner, power side mirrors with heating. In extended configuration, there were adaptive headlights, a leather steering wheel, window wipers with rain sensor, climate-control and cruise control, front seats with heating and satellite navigation system.
Second generation cars production ended in 2011.
Honda Insight II generation faceliftRestyling of second Honda Insight generation was performed in 2011. Cars with a new radiator grille came to market: two crossbars instead of three narrow ones were installed, one of them was wider than the other. Side niches in front bumper with integrated headlights also changed – they became larger and got trapezoidal. No more major changes happened.
