SEAT ToledoThe release of SEAT Toledo models started since 1991 and this model is still being produced. Today there are four generations of the model and two restylings in the market. These cars are manufactured in Spain. SEATS Toledo of the second generation is assembled also in Belgium.
SEAT Toledo I generationThe premiere of SEAT Toledo model took place in 1991 at the Barcelona Motor Show. The model was constructed on the basis of Volkswagen Golf of the second generation. The design of the car was developed under the leadership of Giorgetto Giugiaro. The angular body, a sharply decreasing hood and narrow rectangular headlights became the main features of the exterior. Cars of the first generation were produced in sedan bodies.
In 1992 the special SEAT Toledo series under the name SEAT Toledo Olympic was released. These cars were intended for service of the XXV Olympic Games which took place in Barcelona. All cars of this series were painted in white colour. The hood and doors were decorated with a multi-colored Olympic emblem. In total, two thousands of SEATs Toledo Olympic cars were produced.
SEAT Toledo I generation restylingIn 1995 at the Frankfurt Motor Show the updated SEAT Toledo model was shown. The car had a different radiator grille, more roundish bumpers and the restyled headlights. These cars were manufactured till 1999.
SEAT Toledo II generationThe official premiere of the second generation of SEAT Toledo took place in autumn of 1998, at the Paris Motor Show. Next year the model came to serial production. The car looked stylishly and modern. The body became streamlined. Bumpers, mirror cases and door handles began to be painted in colour of the car body. The hood had a lengthwise power bulge. The interior of the car differed in the high level of comfort. The driver's seat could be regulated on height, and steering column is regulated on height and on setting angle. Cars of the second generation were also produced in body of sedan.
SEAT Toledo III generationIn 2004 at the Madrid Motor the pilot model of the third generation of SEAT Toledo was shown. The exterior of the car was bright and recognizable. Big almond-shaped headlights decorated the front part of the car. The effective waist line decreased from a headlight to a rear wheel arch. The low part of a body was painted in red colour, top part — in gray.
The official premiere of series model took place at the Paris Motor Show in 2004. The car differed from SEAT Toledo Prototipo in unicoloured body and absence of a panoramic roof.
