Citroën DS4 was produced by the French company Citroën from 2010 to 2015. One generation of the model was released. Release of the cars was organized in Mulhouse, France. The model was manufactured in a five-door hatchback body.

The first car under the name Citroën DS4 was presented at the Parisian motor show in September, 2010. The stock production of the car started next year. The model belonged to Citroën premium line — DS, Citroën DS3 and Citroën DS5 models also entered this line.

The exterior of the novelty resembled the Citroën High Rider Concept debuting at the Geneva motor show in March, 2010. Technically stock car was similar to the Citroën C4 model from which it borrowed a platform. Strongly inclined windscreen racks, the window under line which was sharply rising to the rear part, relief wheel arches, a sloping roof and door handles hidden in rear quarter pillars gave to the car similarity with the sporty coupe. The panoramic windshield provided excellent visibility and good lighting of the passenger compartment. Inner trimming had a lot of the chrome elements and multi-coloured leather inserts. For an additional fee it was possible to order a leather trimming of the passenger compartment or dashboard.

In 2011 Citroen C4 became the winner of the competition "The Most Beautiful Car of Year" which took place within the International automobile festival (FAI) which is held annually in December-January in Paris.

In March, 2012, at the Geneva motor show the concept of rally modification of Citroën DS4 Racing Concept was shown. From production model the car differed in the disks increased to nineteen inches, expanded wheel base and an opaque gray colour of a body.

In 2015 at the motor show in Frankfurt the updated Citroën DS4 was presented. Citroën prefix was removed from the name of the car have as the DS brand became a separate one. Respectively, the car had the new radiator grille with the branded DS logo, the updated bumpers and LED headlights. Also the concept of off-road modification of DS4 Crossback, differing in the increased road clearance, big wheels and massive front part, was shown. Broad application of natural materials in the inner trimming became a distinctive feature of the concept car: about 75% of the area of the dashboard was trimmed by wood, and inserts made of natural granite were used as adornment of an exterior.
