Daihatsu Cuore 1980-2003In July 1980, Daihatsu Max Cuore has been replaced by the newer Daihatsu Cuore L55. The first generation of the car was produced in three- and five-door hatchback and van bodies. The car received black plastic bumpers. The headlights were of square shape. In May 1982 a restyling of the model took place. Changes affected mainly the technical side - the vehicles received a new transmission system. A year later, a new four-wheel drive modification with turbocharging appeared.
In 1986-1991 Daihatsu Cuore L80 continued to be manufactured. Pick-up trucks joined the existing hatchback and van models on the production line. The car had a longer wheelbase compared to its predecessor.
In 1991, the third generation entered production, and in 1995 Daihatsu L201 was replaced on the market by Daihatsu Cuore L501. The fourth generation of the cars received a more modern exterior design. The hatchback body received rounded shapes. In May 1997, a restyling of the fourth generation took place, which resulted in the radiator grille being renewed.
Between 1999 and 2003, the fifth generation of the Daihatsu Cuore L7 were being produced. It differed from its precursor on the technical side of the equipment.
Daihatsu Cuore L251In 2003-2007, production lines were assembling the Daihatsu Cuore L251. The body of the sixth generation hatchback became more streamlined, with an increased windshield angle. The car also received new fog lights, a chromium-plated radiator grille and protective mouldings.
Daihatsu Cuore L276In 2007, the seventh generation entered production. The Daihatsu Cuore L276 received renewed front and tail lights. The radiator grille was changed. Initially, only three- and five-door hatchbacks were produced, with vans being released later to the market. As an option, a Smart Drive configuration is offered, which includes a modern “start-stop” system meant to save fuel. The gear shift lever, previously placed between seats, is now embedded in the central panel. As an option, a sliding back seat is offered.
Daihatsu Cuore on various marketsDaihatsu Cuore were sold under the name of Daihatsu Mira in Japan. Some markets saw these cars as Daihatsu Domino. In Australia, two-seat cars were named Daihatsu Handivan, and later - Daihatsu Handi.
The second generation of Daihatsu Cuore was sold under the name of Subaru Pleo. In Thailand, four-seat Daihatsu Micarab pick-up trucks were produced. Hatchbacks with an enlarged rear axle were called Daihatsu Mint. These cars were known in the Philippines as Norkis Legacy.
In 1994 in Malaysia the Daihatsu Cuore L200 model was sold as Perodua Kancil. In Indonesia in 2000-2006 these cars were known as Daihatsu Ceria.
