MINI Countryman is the first compact crossover produced by MINI. It is manufactured since 2010. Manufacturing is established in Austria, since 2013, it also takes place in India, Thailand and Malaysia.

Concept-car MINI Crossover Concept with 4 doors and 4 individual seats was presented on Paris Motor Show in 2008. Another concept MINI Crossover Concept was presented in Detroit at the beginning of 2010. Car presented on Geneva Motor Show borrowed design of front part from this model.

MINI Countryman was the first MINI longer than 4 m. Front part of crossover looks aggressively due to high front bumper, astradled wheels and angular lights, but one could easily see lineal features of car exterior.

MINI Countryman interior is characterized by precise assemblage and high quality materials. Front panel is classically designed; it has many round strict gauges. Speedometer of MINI Countryman is traditionally situated on control console and allows managing entertaining and navigation functions. Driver seat is rather high in comparison with other MINI models. Steering wheel is height ang tilt adjustable.

According to customer’s choice, there are models either with 2 separate rear seats or with classical three-seat unit. By the way, rear seats are able to move 130 mm back and forth providing maximum comfort. Peculiar feature of the car interior is Center Rail where fixings for different devices are situated. You can fix glasses, cell phones, some containers there; all these things can be moved back and forth between seats.

Volume of MINI Countryman luggage compartment is of 350 l.; when rear seats are folded it can be increased to 1170 l. Width of luggage compartment equals its lid width so that loading becomes easier. Another innovation is that rear door opens so high that adult can go under it full length.

Standard configuration of MINI Countryman includes 6 airbags, three-point seatbelts and Isofix fixation for child seat. Car got 5 stars after Euro NCAP crash tests in 2011.

Small restyling of first generation was presented during New York Auto Show in 2014. Mini Countryman got a new radiator grille and new colors for body as an addition.
