Peugeot 307Peugeot 307 is a relatively small car, which was manufactured from 2001 to 2008. In its segment, it replaced the previous Peugeot 306 model. The main production facilities of these cars were located at the factories of such French cities as Mulhouse and Sochaux. In addition, the model was produced in China and since 2004 in Argentina.
Peugeot 307 I generationThe model of Peugeot 307 was developed on the platform which was similar to the one, used for Citroën Xsara and Citroën ZX - PF2.
In regards to the exterior design, the constructors continued to follow the style that was used earlier for Peugeot 206 and Peugeot 607 models. The main features of the car were large curved steel front headlights. This element has already become a brand mark and has been used in many subsequent models of the French brand. Peugeot 307 also got quite a narrow radiator grille and a high hood, which passed onto the windshield at a relatively small angle.
Peugeot 307 was originally released in three- and five-door hatchback, but in 2002 a station wagon was also presented.
In 2003, the company launched a production of the model named as Peugeot 307 CC that was manhufactured in a convertible body version. The car was considerably popular in the USA and Latin America. Designers achieved that a hard folding roof was able to close fully in 25 seconds.
Peugeot 307 I generation restylingAll-new Peugeot 307 cars were presented in 2005. Developers took into account wishes of the majority of motorists. As a result, the car got fully updated headlights - they became narrower, more elongated and peaked.
A form of the hood was also changed as well - it became more expanded and its contact angle with the windshield was increased. The radiator grille was moved lower and became more expressive. This grille style become a classic and was used in most subsequent Peugeot models.
In 2006, constructors announced the beginning of the hybrid electric-gasoline car’s modification production. A prototype vehicle was developed, but the mass production of the car had not been started.
The release of Peugeot 307 models at European plants stopped in 2008. However, in Argentina the car production continued till 2011.
Peugeot 307 in different countries’ marketsCurrently a completely identical car model called the Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroën Automobile 307 is being produced in China.
