Parts for your PONTIAC car
Pontiac is an American automobile brand that existed from 1926 to 2010. The enterprise belonged to General Motors concern and specialized mostly in the production of sports cars.
History
The company’s operation starts with producing autos with an independent suspension and 6-cylinder 40 hp engine in the same-named city in the state of Michigan. The company gained real success in 1933, with the release of a new model with an 8-cylinder engine dubbed Silver Streak. The power unit was quite powerful for that time – 77 hp, relatively inexpensive and quickly became popular among motorists.
In the 50s of the previous century, production of components for Pontiac cars moved to a new level. The autos were now equipped with an automatic gearbox, hydraulic power steering and engine with a mechanical fuel injection system. The Safari model, as well as the Star Chief and the Bonneville convertible created on its basis, were quite successful at that time.
In 1973, the Grand Am was released with saloon and coupé body versions. It became the best-selling car of the brand. Its features were an expensive cabin equipment, seats trimmed with artificial leather or velvet, and the dashboard – with redwood. Moreover, vehicles were equipped with a 3-spoke steering wheel with a soft finish. All of these were characteristic of European luxury cars and unusual for American cars of that time.
The 80s and 90s of the XX century were marked with the beginning of production of front-wheel-drive passenger cars and the first vans – the Trans Sport. Since 2005, the company changed its product conception. The popular Grand Am and Sunfire were replaced with more efficient G5 and G6. By 2009, the brand’s lineup was reduced to 4 models. In 2010, General Motors announced the end of production of Pontiac cars. The last vehicle made was a white saloon G6 of 2010.

Distinctive features of Pontiac vehicles
- Individual style. All models including the most modern ones kept the traditional features: a brand radiator grille, headlights of a specific shape, dashboard with deep recesses for dials, and various roundish interior elements.
- Elegant passenger compartment. High-quality materials and retro-style chrome finish were always used even in relatively inexpensive vehicles.
