The new silica compound is developed based on racing tyre technology. It helps a 1034504 tyre's rubber particles to grip the road surface easily in high temperature conditions, which maximises the handling and braking performance.

• Wet braking:
  The broader lateral groove on the shoulder enhances water displacement and tread block stiffness while reducing noise. The optimised lateral groove shape takes into account the poisson effect when under load.
• Dry handling:
  The number of outer pitches is optimised to ensure the steering grip required for cornering. This is designed to contribute to reduced wear as well.

The tyres 1034504 feature a wide shoulder block and narrow straight groove on the outer section to improve the dry grip. The optimised groove width and its placement ensures a more balanced dry/wet performance.
