Peugeot 1007 is a threedoor hatchback from the French automaking concern. It was produced at the plant in Poissy, France, from 2005 to 2009.

The story began with the concept car called Peugeot Sesame presented at the 2002 Paris Motor Show. A serial car was designed on the basis of Peugeot 207. The design of the model was developed by Pininfarina, a world-wide famous Italian company. There was a number of shortcomings in the prototype noted during a test drive: a small trunk, too slow opening and closing of doors, a difficult access to rear seats. After the elimination of the latter, PSA launched a series production of the model in 2005.

Large sliding side doors equipped with the electric drive that provide a simultaneous direct access to two seat rows, are regarded as the peculiarity of the Peugeot 1007 construction. The doors are locked automatically when the speed exceeds 5 km / h. Despite the car's small dimensions, a cabin and a trunk are quite spacious, and the excellent visibility is provided due to high chairs' position.

Peugeot 1007 cars demonstrate an excellent handling and cornering stability: the designers have provided a model with stabilizer bars, stiffer springs and shock absorbers.

Internal furnish and equipment of Peugeot 1007 is focused on comfort and versatility. Rear sofa consists of two parts, each of which can independently move forward and backwards by 23 cm. The rear seats fold down, increasing the luggage capacity from 175 to 1050 liters. The front passenger seat folds to transport long items.

Peugeot 1007 has a very original interior design: soft trim panels are attached with zippers and velcro fasteners, so they can be removed and cleaned easily. The list of additional options has «Cameleo» sets presented in 12 shades, allowing you to change the design of the car without any help. Each set consists of 18 decoration elements.

In 2005, the Peugeot 1007 demonstrated the record of EuroNCAP crash tests passing - 36 points out of 37 possible. The car has seven airbags: two front and two side airbags, two window airbags and one knee airbag to protect driver's legs.
