SEAT 128 sporty coupes were being manufactured from 1976 to 1980. One generation of the model was presented in the market during this time . The SEAT 128 cars were assembled at the plant in Barcelona, Spain.

History of SEAT 128 creation

The premiere of SEAT 128 3p coupe took place in 1976. The model was constructed on the basis of Fiat 128 Berlinetta 3p from which it adopted not only a construction, but also a design, which differed with a simplicity and elegance. Angular outlines of the body were a little softened with a long hood which panel was slightly rounded in the front part of the car. Double head lights had the round shape. The radiator grill had the form of a grid with large rectangular cells. Front direction indicators were integrated into the bumper, decorated with the chromeplated strip. A distinctive feature of the SEAT 128 exterior was the design of rear optics: each headlight consisted of three separate lights of an oval form that were arranged in one row. The big inclination of the rear door and wide wheel arches indicated a sporting character of the car.

The comfortable interior was trimmed simply and in a good taste. Front seats were regulated in the longitudinal direction. Despite folding backs, an access to the back row for passengers was very difficult. Nevertheless, the rear seats provided a comfortable seating. They were rather low that increased space over the heads of passengers. Cloth and imitation leather were used in the inner trimming. The special deepening on the dashboard along the windshield was intended for storage of small objects. The speedometer and the tachometer located in deepenings that provided good readability of indicators in any weather conditions. Front windows were opened by means of mechanical window regulators, rear windows were oar.

The SEAT 128 cars cost was much higher in comparison with other SEAT models. For the same money it was possible to buy SEAT 124 D Especial sedan 1430 or budgetary SEAT 127 hatchback. Therefore SEAT 128coupe did not enjoy a special popularity, and in 1980 the release of the model was stopped.
