In 2019, Porsche unveiled the Taycan, the first electric series-production car that works with 800 volts of system voltage and therefore charges particularly quickly: In five minutes, the battery has enough juice for a hundred kilometres, and after a good 22 minutes it is charged from 5 to 80 per cent.
The Taycan is available with two battery sizes: the smaller one has a gross capacity of 789 kWh, while the larger one has a gross capacity of 105 kWh. However, the smaller battery is only available for the lower models up to the Taycan 4S and only for the sports saloon and the Sport Turismo.
