Production of this sporty coupe began in 1994 and continued till 2000. One generation and one restyling of Fiat Coupé were presented. Interior design and an exterior were created by the Fiat company together with Pininfarina studio which also participated in the development of Ferrari design. No wonder that Ferrari style is traced in the exterior of the model. Production of Fiat Coupé cars was organized in Turin, Italy.

Fiat Coupé was presented at the motor show in Brussels in 1993. It is the only car developed by the designer Chris Bangle and was oriented for the stock production. The hydraulic power steering, the traction control and anti-theft system, light-alloy disks were included in a basic package. The capacious trunk with a volume of nearly 300 liters was a distinctive feature of the car.

In 1997 a new radiator grille was set on the car. The producer left a gasoline tank cap in the style of the racing car, convex headlight glass and side beveled edges.

The special Fiat Coupé version was released in 1998. It differed in a leather upholstery for an inner trimming, a steering wheel and the transmission controls, in Recaro seats and aerodynamic body-kit. The car accelerated to 95 km in 6,5 seconds. Each car was manufactured with a badge located by the rear-view mirror which contained that car's unique number.

Turbo Limited Edition is identical to the 20V version in technical characteristics and design of a body in many respects. The only considerable difference is that a car doesn’t have a unique identification badge. Painting at Pearl White colour was offered as an extra option.

It is the updated version of Fiat Coupé 1997 with some features of 20V Turbo Plus. Red brake calipers and a valve caps, aerodynamic body-kit were the additional options which could be ordered separately or in a sport package. Recaro seats were replaced by the same ones as cars of 1997 had.
