Honda MDX cars were executive 5-door crossovers, built in 2001-2006. Cars were manufactured in Ontario, Canada. Car picked up «North American car of the year» award in 2001.

Honda MDX was built on the platform of Honda Pilot. A distinctive feature was clear-cut with emerging wheel arches and sills. Car got black plastic bumper, roof had railings. Side mirrors were body colored.

Main advantage was its environmental friendliness. United States Environmental Protection Agency classified Honda MDX as one with lower emission in 2003.

In interior designers were focused on ergonomics. It had seven seats mounted in three rows. Basic configuration had front and side airbags, modern active safety systems such as traction-control system (TRC) and electronic brake force distribution (EBD). Navigation system and entertainment DVD system were optional.

Restyling of car happened in 2003. New configurations with new power plants were presented; acceleration dynamic was improved. Car got two exhaust pipes instead of one, more advanced headlights and taillights, new wheel rims.

Cars were sold in Japan and Australia under Honda MDX name. On North American market it was named Acura MDX, and its production still continues. Only first generation of Acura MDX was imported to Japan and Australia. Nowadays, only third generation cars are coming off the assembly line.
