Citroën offers glasses to eliminate motion sickness

According to statistics, about 30 million Europeans suffer from motion sickness on the road. Citroën made an attempt to solve this problem. The Seetroën glasses launched by the company are designed to eliminate disturbances in the operation of the vestibular system in passengers of motor vehicles.

The innovative product is based on a technology developed a few years earlier by the French company Boarding Ring. The design of the glasses was worked on by specialists of Studio 5.5 in Paris. White soft-touch plastic was chosen as the material for the frame.

The principle of Seetroën operation is based on unique features of the vestibular system functioning. Fits of dizziness and waves of nausea arise from a conflict between the perception of the environment by a visual organ and by receptors of the inner ear.

The frame consists of four rims: two in the frontal part of the device and two on its sides - for the direct and peripheral vision respectively. Inside each rim, along their circumference, there are transparent tubes filled with a bright blue liquid.

When moving, the fluid creates an artificial horizon line, thus eliminating the mismatch between the signals coming to the brain from different sensory organs.

It is very easy to use this newly-designed product. At the first symptoms of the sickness, you should put on the glasses and wait 10-12 minutes. As soon as you feel better, you may take them off.

The device can be used by adults and children over 10 years of age. People with visual impairment can wear Seetroën over their normal glasses.
