Your IAT sensor is located in the engine's intake air system and plays a crucial role in the engine control system by providing input to the Engine Control Unit (ECU) or Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The ECU uses information from the sensor to adjust various engine parameters such as fuel injection timing, air-fuel mixture, ignition timing, and turbocharger boost pressure based on the temperature of the incoming air.
