The release of Peugeot 301 cars has lasted since 1932 to the present day. First cars were manufactured in France; the second generation’s manufacturing has been established in Spain, China and Nigeria.

The first generation vehicles had been produced between 1932 to 1936. There were stylish coupe cars, sedans and convertibles. They were equipped with a front independent suspension and a practical steering column.

Having decided to renew the Peugeot 301 model, designers represented a new car with an old name at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. Modern cars are produced in a sedan body version.

The Peugeot 301 stands out due to a stylish and eye-catching exterior design. Headlamps of a unique form, and also a keystone radiator grille with the chromed framing and flat-lying crossbars are regarded as the front bumper's main features. The front bumper construction also shows excellent aerodynamical rates.

The Peugeot 301 model has an ergonomic interior and a spacious luggage section, the latter has 506 liters in volume. As an option, there are three car versions suggested for customers: Active, Access and Allure. Safety was the main priority while the car had been designed. An Anti-lock brake system (ABS), a park system and a driver and a front-seat passenger safety airbags were included to the basic equipment version.

The vehicle is distinguished by a high level of handling and stability on the road that were achieved by means of the vehicle dynamic control system. All Peugeot 301 vehicles are equipped with front electric windows, and also with mirrors having a heating function. An air-conditioning system and a modern audio system enhance the comfort of a cabin. The buttons for these systems' control are conveniently placed to the standard center console.

Peugeot 301 is considered to be a twin for such a model as Citroën C-Elysee.
