1 June 2023 MultiJet engines: performance characteristics of common rail diesel engines
MultiJet is a term used for the second generation turbocharged diesel engines provided with a common rail direct fuel injection system. The electronic control splitting the entire fuel supply into multiple independent injections provides a quieter, eco-friendlier and more efficient engine operation.
Being awarded with a title "International Engine of the Year" in 2005, the 1.3 MultiJet got the highest score among other engines ranging in volume from 1.0 to 1.4 litres.
MultiJet power units are installed on many vehicles such as Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia.
