TDCi engines: operating characteristics Ford diesel engines with common rail system
TDCI Duratorq is the name of the Ford Company’s turbocharged diesel engines range provided with a common rail fuel injection system. They are noted for good fuel economy and low emission level in exhaust gas.
The TDCI Duratorq engines were manufactured by the Ford Motor Company together with PSA Peugeot Citroen. The power units were produced in the following order:
- 1998 — TDCI 1.8 L.
- 1999 — TDCI 2.0 L, 2.2 L, 2.4 L, 2.5 L and 3.0 L.
- 2002 — TDCI 1.4 L and 1.6 L.
- 2004 — TDCI 2.0 L.
- 2005 — TDCI 2.2 L.
- 2006 — TDCI 3.2 L.
- 2012 — TDCI 1.5 L.
