Production of Fiat Barchetta was organized in Turin, Italy, in 1995 and continued till 2005. During this period one generation and one restyling of Fiat Barchetta were presented at the market. Cars in a body of a roadster were on sale.

Fiat Barchetta was presented in 1994 at the auto show in Geneva. Its design was mastered by Andreas Zapatinas who was inspired by Ferrari 166 MM.

The car got the name (meaning “the small boat”) because of unusual body style. At the designing of this car Fiat Punto chassis was taken as a basis. Fiat Barchetta had the specific simple and practical inner trimming.

The standard package consists of the hydraulic power steering, airbags, roll stabilizer, 15-inch cast disks, traction control system.

Fiat Barchetta could be accelerated to the maximum speed of 200 km/h. It can be accelerated to 100 km/h in 8,9 seconds.

In 2003 there was a restyling of Fiat Barchetta. The car had a new front bumper with the air inlets thus making the style of an exterior more sporty and aggressive. Along with changes in interior design, the list of options was changed - there was an audio system playing compact disks and musical files in the MP3 format.

Designers created sliding door handles which are hidden in a niche at the driving and the parking. In finishing of an interior dense plastic and metal prevailed. White dial gages add a retro charm to an interior.

16 inches disks, a protective arch with seats and a removable rigid roof were included in the standard package. In spite of the fact that roof was removed manually only, the process did not take a lot of time.

The model was produced in black and red colours. As an extra option 4 metallic and yellow colours were offered.
