Release of Citroёn C8 minivans took place from 2002 to 2014. The car succeeded Citroёn Evasion and was produced within the Eurovan project. This project started in 1994 for production of minivans under the Peugeot Citroёn, Fiat i Lancia brands. During production one generation of Citroёn C8 and two restylings were presented. Cars were assembled at the Sevelnord plant in France.

Citroёn C8 was presented at the Geneva motor show in 2002. Release of the first generation of minivans was organized till 2008. The model was a combination of practicality, functionality and modern design. In a basic package the car had five seats. The third row of seats was offered as an option. Special fastenings of rear seats allowed to transform the passenger compartment easily. The rational organization of internal space was promoted by numerous shelves, containers and coasters. The sliding rear doors with the electric drive made boarding of passengers more comfortable. Large area of glazing provided good visibility.

Big ellipsoidal head lights and narrow vertical tail lights became a specific feature of the exterior. In the passenger compartment the attention was drawn by the dashboard with the big tachometer and a speedometer located directly over the central console. Shift lever was relocated to the central console that allowed to have some more space in the passenger compartment. In the richest package — Exclusive Captain Chair — the passenger compartment of the car was trimmed by leather.

Citroёn C8 differed in rich equipment. ESP stabilization system, six airbags, anti-lock brake system (ABS) with function of brake force distribution (EBD), the tire pressure sensor, parking assistant, glasses and mirrors with electric drive, the on-board computer and climate control could be included in a basic package.

The first restyling of Citroёn C8 took place in 2008. Changes were insignificant and concerned only some elements of an exterior and an interior. In an exterior a lot of the chrome plated elements (door handles, a fringing of headlights, the radiator grille, mouldings) were used. Quality of the materials, used for inner trimming, was improved. In 2012 the design of Citroёn C8 was slightly updated. Head lights became smoke-coloured, a new colour — Hickory – was added to the variants of body colouring. The new package of the options - Black Pack, offering a special shape of exterior mirrors and door racks, and also interesting design of front and rear bumpers, side mouldings - appeared.

Citroёn C8 was released at the Sevelnord enterprise in France together with Peugeot 807, Fiat Ulysse and Lancia Phedra models. All cars had similar technical characteristics and packages. Design of the nose and interior trimming was the only distinctive feature of these models.
