The car has excellent aerodynamics. The telescopic spoiler automatically changes a discharge angle when the car gathers the speed of 120 km/h that provides additional tracking force.

In 2011 at the Frankfurt salon the new body of Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG R197 — a roadster - was presented to motorists. Such materials as steel, aluminum and magnesium were engaged in a design of a folding roof. Producers replaced "wing of a seagull" doors with oar ones. Developers increased a body rigidity that led to increase in weight of a car from 1695 up to 1735 kg.
