Nissan Note engine problems

This is most likely a worn-out alternator belt. Again, this is easily done yourself in just a few minutes.
Temperature light doesn’t stay off
First, check and see if the wiring is working properly, and that there aren’t any visible faults. If you don’t find anything there, you could have a malfunctioning radiator fan. It is possible to continue driving, but we don’t recommend it. This part should be replaced as soon as possible.
Unwieldy back seats
Even if at first read, this doesn’t seem to be a severe issue, it could very well come one. Notes manufactured from January to March 2016 have malfunctioning ISOFIX mounting points built into the rear seats, causing the seats to not perform as expected in the event of a side impact. This puts passengers in harm’s way. We recommend replacing the defective brackets.
A/C doesn’t work
In the last few years, Nissan has switched over to using eco-friendly gas. This has increased the price so significantly, that in some situations it’s less expensive to just purchase car air conditioning parts and do the new a/c installation yourself.
Windscreen wipers switch on by themselves
This can happen quite unexpectedly while you are driving. Apparently, this is not uncommon with the Note. This is most probably an ECU error. In most instances, it can be reprogrammed by a professional mechanic. Sometimes, however, this won’t help and you’ll have to get a new unit.
Gear shifting malfunction
It is not uncommon that the Note’s gears slip when you shift. This is often costly since a new torque converter has to be mounted.
Make sure you go to a mechanic for this. Keep in mind that most garages will let you buy a part yourself and bring it to them to be fitted into your vehicle.
Steering area produces clicking sounds
If you have been hearing odd sounds when you are going around corners, this might be caused by a malfunctioning clip on the steering shaft. Replacing the clip will take care of this.
Brake light malfunction
It’s not uncommon for the 3rd brake light to malfunction on the Note. This is due to water entering this area and causing the light to be damaged. Simply replacing the bulb is a quick fix.
Fog lights don’t turn off
If your car is still under warranty, the manufacturer will fix this at no cost to you. If it no longer is, you’ll have to put in a replacement multifunction control model.
Vehicle stalls
The engine gets too hot causing the vehicle to stall. This malfunction caused Nissan to issue a recall. The Notes that were affected by this were manufactured between July 2015 and January 2016. You can easily repair this without having to go to a mechanic. You only need to get a new ignition coil.
