Fiat Idea is the minivan released since 2003. Since 2005 Fiat Idea assembling is carried out not only in Italy, but also in Brazil where production continues even after the termination of release of the model in Europe in 2012.

Production of five-door minivans Fiat Idea began in 2003. New cars quickly won great popularity at the expense of the practicality: the passenger car was easily transformed in cargo thanks to the possibility to shift and put the second row of seats.

Fiat Idea cars are characterized by quite small sizes — less than 4 meters in length that allows them to show fine maneuverability. The minivan is equipped with the Dualdrive electric power steering which minimizes the efforts necessary for driving. Fast and precise gear shifting is provided with the convenient lever arrangement. All instrumentations and the on-board computer are grouped in the center of the dashboard for greater convenience. The wheel of the original shape can be regulated both on height, and on a reach.

In 2006 exterior of the Italian minivan was slightly corrected. As a result of changes, Fiat Idea got the chrome plated radiator grille, back lights with the front direction indicators.

The South American Fiat Idea version started in stock production in 2005 and differs from the European a little. The reinforced bottom, the increased car dimensions, and also a panoramic glass roof are the features of the Brazilian Fiats Idea. The South American minivan is available in four sets — Attractive, Essence, Sporting and Adventure.

Gradually release of Fiat Idea in Europe came to the end, but in Brazil the model endured several restylings. The first corrections of design of the Brazilian Fiat Idea are dated by 2010. They were small, the configuration of front, rear and side slips was slightly changed.

In 2013 there was the following face lifting of model - Attractive and Essence versions got a new radiator grille and fog lights design. All range of Fiat Idea models got new disks, and also new colour schemes of an upholstery of seats. And at last, producers announce restyling of the Brazilian version of Fiat Idea in 2016 and promise to make the car even more beautiful, convenient and technological.
