Volkswagen Spacefox
Volkswagen Spacefox is the model developed on the basis of Volkswagen Fox especially for the markets of the countries of Latin America and Africa. It has been produced since 2006 till present. The car is released in a body of a minivan. Assembly of this model is carried out in Argentina.
Volkswagen Spacefox Ⅰ generation
The presentation of Volkswagen Spacefox of the first generation took place in April, 2006 in Brazil. Initially these cars were manufactured in two packages. The most expensive of them, Plus, had a new air conditioning system and hydraulic power steering. Production of Volkswagen Spacefox of the first generation ended in 2009.
Volkswagen Spacefox Ⅰ generation restyling
In 2009 this model underwent changes which affected car dimensions — it became larger: 15 mm longer, 20 mm wider and 31 mm higher. Changes in the exterior were insignificant: the car had new headlights, and developers added a chrome radiator grille and mouldings on doors to the package of additional options. For interior trimming, better materials were used.
Volkswagen Spacefox Ⅱ generation
The premiere of Volkswagen Spacefox of the second generation took place in March, 2010. The new radiator grille was wider and was divided into three parts by horizontal bars; chrome details were added. Fog lights had a narrower focus and shape. The simplified geometry of tail lights made the rear part of Volkswagen Spacefox more modern. Side marker lights were transferred to the rear bumper, which also lost its black trim cover. Producers also decided to get rid of mouldings. Release of Volkswagen Spacefox of the second generation continues till nowadays.
Volkswagen Spacefox in the markets of the different countries
Volkswagen Spacefox is not the only name of the model. Thus, in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay the car was released under the name Volkswagen Suran, in Mexico — Volkswagen Sportvan, and in Algeria — Volkswagen Foxplus.
