The sport Ferrari 348 car was produced from 1989 to 1993 at the plant in Maranello, Italy. It is considered that it is one of the most unsuccessful models of the well-known company.

The company began to work on creation of the model in 1980. Specialists of the Italian Pininfarina studio of style were engaged in the development of design of this car. The presentation of the stock Ferrari 348 car took place in the spring of 1989 in Frankfurt. The car was released in bodies of a coupe (Berlinetta), a targa (Targa) and a roadster (Spider).

According to the packaging scheme, traditional for models of the company, the engine was placed in the central part of the body of the car, and transmission — in the back part. The drive was carried out on the rear wheels.

Ferrari 348 cars were painted mainly in red colour though also black, white and yellow copies went on sale. The car inherited sliding headlights from the previous models of the company.

The body of Ferrari 348 was made of steel, a door — of aluminum alloys, and bumpers and some other structural elements — of fiber glass. Roadster windshield racks were equipped with a strong framework in case of upsetting.

Genuine leather was used for finishing of passenger compartment. Devices were settled down in a deep niche of the dashboard. The passenger compartment of the car was comfortable, but not too spacious for tall or large people.

The basic package of Ferrari 348 was equipped with climate control system, system of heating, double anti-lock braking system (ABS), and also an intellectual computer engine control system.

In 1993 production of the model was stopped. Today it is extremely difficult to find Ferrari 348 in sale in the secondary market because of small outputs. In total for years of production 8844 cars were released.
